Privacy Policy
Last updated: 24 July 2026
1. Who we are
Meta Geeks is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. You can contact us at help@metageek.co.uk or on +44 1923 628803.
2. What we collect
When you contact us, book a repair, or subscribe to our newsletter, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, a description of the fault, and the make and model of the device. If you drop a device off, we also handle the data stored on that device.
3. How we use it
We use your details to reply to your enquiry, arrange the repair, share updates, and follow up afterwards. We only access the data on your device where the repair requires it, and we never copy personal files off the device without your explicit permission.
4. Legal basis
We rely on legitimate interests to run a repair business, and on your consent for newsletter marketing. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in every email.
5. Sharing
We do not sell your data. We only share it with suppliers who help us run the service, for example an email delivery provider or a courier for parts, and only to the extent needed to do their job.
6. Retention
We keep repair records for up to 6 years to support our guarantee and meet UK tax rules. Newsletter contact details are kept until you unsubscribe. Data extracted for a recovery job is returned to you and then securely erased from our systems.
7. Your rights
You have the right to access the data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and object to certain uses. To make a request, email help@metageek.co.uk. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
8. Cookies
This website uses only the cookies needed to make it work. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not track you across other websites. We display a verified review badge from Bark on our site. Bark is a third party and their badge may set its own cookies when it loads. You can read how Bark handles your information in their privacy policy at bark.com.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The version in force is the one published on this page.
